Monoecious shrub or tree, up to 8 m

Densecrect or ascending branches, terel when young

Leaves 1-2 mm, whorled or opposite, imbriated, scale like, ovate-rhombic convex back with linear resin duct.

Staminate cones terminal sessile, erect with rounded scales, mature cones brown-red, glossy with 6-8 scales.
Seeds 3-8 free, oblong.

Threatened species, key species for Dana habitat-re-creation on the RBG site.

Distribution: Shoubak and Tafilah mountains
